In view of the conflicting reporting on the Indo-China relation -both in the print media and the electronic media, the following article carried in the Times makes an interesting reading.

By the side of river Bhagirati on a Friday evening
The memory of the flood of 2000 drove me to the side of the river Bhagirathi and what I had seen has assured me that there will not be any repetition this year.Rather,I felt that the overflowing of the river will be beneficial to those who had cultivated jute. Unfortunately, the proposed site where the electric cremation was to be built was found under deep water.

Decoding the Ancient Script of the Indus Valley
Readers who have the uncanny habit of relishing on History may like to read the following article.Incidentally,I would like to add that Chakdaha has the distinct reputation of nurturing at least two world famous Historians-Dr.Dilip Chakraborty, erstwhile an Oxford University Faculty and presently at Cambridge as Research Supervisor and Shri Shibani Kinkar Chowbey formerly in Delhi University where from he retired. From the communications I received from Dilip Kaku I am surprised to find that he clearly remember the tit bits of our home, which I myself does not remember. This posts is dedicated to both of them.
